Hooray For Earth makes patient music for patient people, which doesn’t fit with the cultural milieu but yields plenty of rewards when the climax finally arrives. Not that the NYC-via-Boston combo staggers along like your average post-rock band; even its lengthier dream-world excursions are more late-period M83 John Hughes homage than early-period M83 sprawl.

In advance of a new album for Dovecote Records, they’ll be at the Basement on Tuesday with locals Post Coma Network, an inventive and energetic combo offering a more concise take on similar sounds.
