The Matablog just posted a short string of Ted Leo & the Pharmacists tour dates that happens to include a Monday, July 29 stop at Double Happiness. As the release explains, "The following aren't solo performances. They aren't collaborations with the wildly talented Aimee Mann. These are BONA FIDE, ALL-TOO-RARE (of late, anyway) Ted Leo & The Pharmacists shows and we cannot wait to see you there." Savvy Leo followers will recall he was just here playing solo with Aimee Mann, but it's been almost three years since the punk falsetto blaster brought his band to town. So, good news.

Also stoked for the Beach Fossils show at The Summit, which is coming up much sooner on Friday, May 3. Tickets for that one are $9.99 advance, $12 day of. The chillwaved-out post-punk dreamers just released their underrated second album, Clash the Truth, and they put on a surprisingly spunky live show. As far as I recall, those guys also haven't been to town since they opened for Small Black back in summer 2010.Stream the new record here.
