Big things popping for two great Columbus rock bands (and, come to think of it,Rocktoberfest alums):

Burly stoner rock greatsLo-Panwill betouring with Torche and KENmode-two of the hugest names in underground metal right now - including a Tuesday, June 4 stop at Ace of Cups. This follows Lo-Pan's runwith High on Fire andGoatwhorelast year. Makin' moves!

Meanwhile, basement anthem architects Connections have been tapped to open for fellow Dayton natives The Breeders at a pair of shows celebrating the 20th anniversary of seminal alt-rock artifact Last Splash. Both shows are within driving distance: May 2 in Oberlin and May 3 in Pittsburgh, though the latter is sold out. Incidentally, Connections will open for lesser-known Dayton greats Swearing at Motorists on Monday, May 13 at the Tree Bar, and they're opening for Sonic Youth offshoot Lee Ranaldo Band at Ace of Cups on May 25. So, a whole lot of openin' goin' on. They also just released their Tough City EP on Record Store Day, and you can find their new Matthew Carter-directed clip for "Miller's Grove" co-starring band buds WVWhite.
