Melissa Etheridge, the iconic singer-songwriter and gay activist, will play LC Pavilion's outdoor amphitheater on Friday, July 19. Tickets cost $35 ($42.85 with fees) starting 10 a.m. Friday.
Also coming to LC outdoors: Epic shoegaze pop-rockersSilversun Pickups, who might as well buy some property here, on Monday, June 10.Tickets for that one cost $25 ($32.85, actually) and also go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
Trip-hop pioneer Tricky will play Newport Music Hall on Saturday, June 8. Those tickets cost $20 ($26.85 with fees) starting 10 a.m. Friday.
Another throwback on a comeback at the Newport: Massive cultlike psych-pop crew The Polyphonic Spree on Tuesday, June 25. Tickets for that one cost $18 ($23.85) starting 10 a.m. Saturday.
The Uncluded, the partnership between Moldy Peach/anti-folk hero Kimya Dawson and Def Jux-era underground rap star Aesop Rock, comes to the Wexner Center on Friday, June 7. Tickets cost $16 and are on sale now. More details on the show are available at the Wex's website.
Also coming to the Wex: Bonnie "Prince" Billy, who was just there in January, will return with Everly Brothers duet partner Dawn McCarthy on Friday, Aug. 2. That one costs $18 and is also on sale now. Again, ticket info and more at the Wex's site.
Zappa Plays Zappa, in which son Dweezil plays music by father Frank, comes to the LC outdoors on Thursday, Sept. 5. Starting 10 a.m. Saturday you can get tickets for $15 ($20.85) or $38 ($45.85).
Trucker-fixated sound collage country crooner Daughn Gibson, one of the most fascinating and promising acts in indie rock (if you can call it that), will play Ace of Cups on Wednesday, July 17. Tickets will run you a mere $8 plus fees and are on sale now.
Also at Ace of Cups, but much later: Dub-minded Kiwi indie rockers Unknown Mortal Orchestra will headline on Friday, Oct. 18. Tickets: $12 plus fees, and you can get 'em now.
