Music preview: Sea Wolf brings moody, melodious indie folk to Ace of Cups

Columbus Alive

Sea Wolf’s primary connection to Columbus is that ex-Sundown guitarist Dustin White, who doesn’t even live here anymore, spent a few months based in Los Angeles playing with the band back in 2007. But White’s predilection for scuzzy punk, prog and psychedelia has little to with Sea Wolf’s moody, melodious indie folk sound.

Quivering songsmith Alex Brown Church’s band is better known for putting records out on Dangerbird (Silversun Pickups, Fitz and the Tantrums) and production by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley), which should better frame your expectations for Monday’s show at Ace of Cups with Savoir Adore.
