Concert preview: Dub-O and Say It Ain't Tone headline post-ComFest hip-hop showcase

If there’s one constant critique of ComFest (OK, there’s a lot more than one), it’s that the music schedule doesn’t include enough hip-hop. Sunday’s show at Circus ought to scratch that itch with a number of aspiring rap stars, mostly from Ohio.

Co-headlining will be Dub-O, a member of MGK’s Cleveland crew EST 19XX, and Detroit’s SayItAintTone (pictured), an affiliate of Big Sean’s Finally Famous crew. The latter seems marked to be the star of the show; his recent #500million mixtape shows verbal dexterity and betrays the pop sensibility that helped Tone co-write Kanye West’s smash “Mercy” last year.

The rest of the lineup includes Cleveland Def Jam signee Ray Jr., Demari Faust, Royal T and Kaz.
