Concert preview: Melissa Etheridge keeps cranking out new music

You may not realize this, but Melissa Etheridge has been steadily releasing new albums for all these years, all the way up to 2012’s 4th Street Feeling.

That record’s title track is a low-key look back (to “when everything I have I could fit into my Chevrolet”), but Etheridge continues to push forward, not content to rest on albums that came out 20 years(!) ago like the smash Yes I Am.

Of course, those old hits will certainly come out Friday — they’re just not the only ones you’ll hear. No opening act is listed, so it’s hard to imagine any Etheridge fan leaving unsatisfied.
