Staff Pick: Sonny Vincent's bottom-feeder punk deserves to be among punk's pantheon

Sonny Vincent has been bashing out no-nonsense bottom-feeder punk rock since 1975, when he formed Testors in the midst of the New York CBGB scene that birthed so many iconic acts.

Even a superficial spin through Vincent’s deep catalog with Testors and otherwise suggests he deserves a place in the pantheon alongside The Ramones, Talking Heads, Television, Blondie and everybody else who was scraping vital sounds out of the gutters back then.

Fame eluded Vincent, though, which is bad for him but great for you because it means you get to see him up close Wednesday at Ace of Cups.
