Meghan Ralston's Independents' Day picks: Karate Coyote, Indigo Wild, Mister Shifter

Meghan Ralston, Columbus Alive
Indigo Wild

Karate Coyote

9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 Stage at Gay & High

This is indie pop rock band Karate Coyote's last show. For that reason alone, you should see it. Add in that they're playing with the original line-up ofEric Vescelius, Kendra Jados, Nic Jados, Ryan Horn, Ted Bigham and Sam Corlett, and it makes their set damn nearirresistible. I'm in for the fond farewell, especially when it includes tracks off of their album Inner Animals.

Indigo Wild

2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21

GCAC Independents' Stage at Gay & 3rd

Indigo Wild first got my attention around the beginning of 2011 with their catchy indie-rock beats. For about a year, Ienjoyedgoing to a lot of their shows, until they took a break for some band members to travel.I'm looking forward to seeing them take the stage again.

Mister Shifter

12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21

Squared Electronic Dance Music Stage

Having just played CD102.5 Summerfest, this long-time Columbus DJ is starting to garner attention again. He's known for having an eclectic music collection that he can seamlessly transition through. And Mister Shifter loves playing to the crowd, so you never get the same performance twice. Keep your eyes on this guy.
