P. Blackk follows One with Two

Mondays might be inherently awful, but the latest EP from local rapper P. Blackk, which first posted online over the weekend, is making the start of the new workweek significantly more bearable.

The seven-track effort, titled Two, follows July's One (sensing a pattern here?) and finds the MC in typically fine form, rhyming over a jazzy backdrop on the album-opening "Intro (1999)," flexing atop strutting funk horns on "Richard" and spitting fire on the kinetic "Git It How U Live," which sounds like it jacked its percolating beat from a vintage video game.

"I want to know what my future holds," Blackk sings on closer "The Break-Up Song."

Alive has long predicted big things for the artist - he was named one of our Bands to Watch in 2011, after all - and this new release, which he produced, mixed, mastered and performed, only affirms our belief that Blackk's future is impossibly bright.
