Concert preview: Overkill's refusal to change isn't such a bad thing

The thrash-metal pioneers, like creationists and hardline Republicans, have flat-out refused to embrace evolution.

At least in this case, however, that isn't such a bad thing.

The New Jersey crew's latest, The Electric Age, sounds like it could have been released when the band was first getting its start back in the early '80s, piling on finger-cramping riffs, kinetic drums and helium-induced vocals courtesy of singer/howler monkey Bobby Ellsworth.
