Famed musician/producer Joe Henry helmed Meet Me at the Edge of the World, the latest album from Cincinnati duo Over the Rhine, and the results sound precisely like everything else in the band’s soft-lit catalog. This is not necessarily a bad thing. For more than two decades the husband-wife team has specialized in crafting gorgeous, lovelorn pop songs that, like the season’s first snow, are pretty to take in even if they rarely make much of an impact.

The duo returns to the Lincoln Theatre Thursday, Dec. 5, for its annual holiday concert, which should draw heavily from its new album.

Matt the Electrician opens the show.
