Concert preview: Ace of Cups' Figgy Fest spreads holiday cheer with a punk twist

Andy Downing, Columbus Alive

Figgy Fest, which Ace of Cups hopes to establish as a Christmas tradition, could be considered A Not So Silent Night's rowdier cousin - the "Bad Santa" to the Lincoln Theatre event's more-traditional "It's a Wonderful Life," if you will. The boozy affair features groups like Figgy & the Scrooges, The Dirty Krampus Biscuits and Mistletones bashing through raucous, punk-leaning takes on Christmas classics. Rudolph, quite possibly the ultimate Christmas outsider, would totally dig this event.

Also performing are Ebeneezer Booze, Placenta Clause & The Human Santapede and Windowless Salvation Army Van, and there will be Christmas-themed karaoke with Parker Paul before, between and after the bands. The suggested donation is $5 at the door, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
