Concert preview: Locals Jargon of the Future celebrate record deal at Victory's

Andy Downing, Columbus Alive

In 2013 the local trio Jargon of the Future landed a deal with Oklahoma-based TMG Records, which released the band's most recent EP in January, and this show will double as a signing celebration.

The group trumpets a wide array of influences (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police and, uh, 311), and its music tends to fall on the more lively end of the rock 'n' roll spectrum.

Witness "Drive Fast. Break Things. Yell.," a big-riffed rock tune far more polite than its temper-tantrum of a title would suggest.

Hellbranch Run opens the show.
