Concert preview: Jeremy Messersmith overcomes death to find love with Heart Murmurs

On Jeremy Messersmith’s 2010 album, The Reluctant Graveyard, he sounded obsessed with dark, Gothic imagery, coming on like Vincent Price with a far better ear for melody. But on his latest LP, Heart Murmurs, the singer/songwriter rediscovers his pulse, rising from the grave to turn out 10 tracks that explore the meaning of love from various different angles. The warm, inviting pop album is full of late night calls, lustful encounters and cheek-to-cheek slow dances. Still looking for that Valentine’s Day soundtrack? You’ve found it.

Tristen and Blake Skidmore of Old Hundred open the show.
