Concert preview: Insane Clown Posse's dual MCs embrace their comically over-the-top personas

If you’re a Faygo fan you might want to stock up on the sugary soda before the Insane Clown Posse and its paint-clad fans, dubbed the Juggalos, take over Newport Music Hall this week.

The Detroit duo, which has built up a tight-knit following that exists as more of an outsider community, spins beautifully deranged, dark twisted fantasies as comically violent and over-the-top as backyard pro wrestling. It makes some sense then that the painted pair resembles a particularly gnarly tag-team, trading off lines that veer from deceptively childlike (“F-----g magnets/How do they work?”) to darker rants that play like the twisted ramblings of a psychopath (“I ate a dead body/I ain’t proud of it”).
