Concert preview: Da Mafia 6ix soldiers on in the wake of Lord Infamous' passing

The hip-hop collective’s name might be a bit misleading at this point, since the group features only four of the original six members of Three 6 Mafia (contractual obligations prevented Juicy J from joining the fold, and Lord Infamous died in December at the age of 40). Even so, expect the Memphis crew to exhume fan favorites like “Stay Fly” and “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp,” the street-level, on-my-grind tale that netted the rappers an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2006.

And while the group’s past material will almost certainly dominate the set, there’s a chance fans might hear some tracks from the Mafia’s long-in-the-works new album, which was originally due out this month, but was pushed back to the summer in the wake of Infamous’ unexpected passing.

Twisted Insane and Whitney Peyton open the show.
