The Brooklyn crew — best known for providing “Justified” with theme song — selected a name that doubles as an explanation of its sound.

The group’s music melds bluegrass with hip-hop, an unexpected musical pairing further reflected in the titles of two of the band’s albums: Lightning on the Strings, Thunder on the Mic and Rappalachia, both of which are far more inventive than the songs contained on either.

The project was launched in ’06 by producer Rench, who has been joined by a rotating cast of musicians and MCs since forming the group.

Kelly Zullo’s Funkgrass opens the show.
