PromoWest Productions celebrates its 30th anniversary by bringing in a performer who has been around even longer than the local promoters: Mexico-born guitarist Santana.

The musician, now more than 15 years removed from Supernatural, the album that reintroduced the guitarist to the mainstream by pairing him with the likes of Rob Thomas (the once-inescapable “Smooth”), continues to follow his own muse, and the title of his 2012 album, Shape Shifter, doubles as a nice description of his ever-exploratory approach.

For his most recent album, Corazon, this meant revisiting his roots — the album is Santana’s first full-on Latin-pop album, and it includes guest appearances from the likes of Gloria Estefan, Juanes and, uh, Pitbull. Fortunately the guitarist should take center stage here with a performance likely to span the entirety of his impressive career.
