The Melvins Buzz Osborne, a.k.a. King Buzzo, might have unplugged for his solo debut, This Machine Kills Artists, but he hasn’t mellowed in the slightest.

The musician — he of the wild eyes and shock of frizzy gray hair — attacks folk with the same out-there humor and sinister disposition he brings to The Melvins, and the best songs here (“Vulgar Joke,” “Drunken Baby”) showcase the singer/songwriter at his bizzaro best.

Emma Ruth Rundle also performs.
