The polished new wave rockers enjoy fashioning tunes about relationships. Neon Tree’s latest, Pop Psychology, is littered with heart-skipping songs like “Love in the 21st Century,” “Teenager in Love” and “I Love You (But I Hate Your Friends).”

Even so, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows (well, sonically it might be — these guys never hesitate to pour on the sheen), and songs like “Voices in the Hall” strike a more complex and ultimately interesting tone.

Smallpools and Nightmare & the Cat also perform.
