Editor's picks: 20 things to do this weekend

Columbus Alive

It's ComFest weekend, Columbus! (How did we get here already?) And that means you're either planning your weekend around the Goodale Park festival, or avoiding it like the plague. Good news either way, as there's plenty to do this weekend whatever your preferences. As always, here's what I'd do if I could be everywhere all the time.

ComFest in Goodale Park

Pro-tip: ComFest is best enjoyed when you can actually maneuver the park's grounds. Which means you should aim for Friday afternoon, anytime Saturday prior to, say, 4, and Sunday. Of the three, however, Friday's where it's at.

Buggin' Out at Carabar

"Jodorowsky's Dune" at Drexel Theatre

Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons, Nick D' & The Believers, Damn the Witch Siren ComFest After Party at Rumba Cafe

"'Til Death" at Gateway Film Center

Comfest After party with The Wet Darlings, The Rust Belt Rumble Family Band

Matt Sowell, Mike Shiflet, Brian Werstler at It Looks Like It's Open

The Antlers at A&R Music Bar

If you're in the mood for music this weekend and absolutely must avoid ComFest, The Antlers' show at A&R gets my vote. Any band named after a song from The Microphones will always get my vote.

Cadaver Dogs at Newport Music Hall

ComFest in Goodale Park

"Out.Look" at Cultural Arts Center

Bike High! Or Ride to the Air Force Museum

O-GEE Old-School Hip-Hop Party at Strongwater Food and Spirits

The Grandview Hop in Grandview

Books Books Books at Seventh Son Brewery

Books and beer, my life's loves. Stop by Seventh Son on Sunday for book/zine swaps, local author readings, zine-making and more. Some of the city's best small press publishers will be on hand, too.

ComFest in Goodale Park

"The Leftovers" on HBO

"Weinland Park Story Book" release party and celebration at Godman Guild Association

ComFest After Party with Dan White Sextet at Brothers Drake Meadery & Bar

Market Flea at North Market
