Independents' Day announces music lineup

Independents' Day, the homegrown music fest designed to celebrate everything local, recently released the full lineup for this year's festivities, which take place Sept. 19-21 at the intersection of Town and Lucas streets in East Franklinton.

Performers include: Scrawl (which will also be featured at this weekend's Helter Swelter), The Floorwalkers with special guest Jared Mahone, Two Cow Garage, J. Rawls & Friends, Happy Chichester, Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons, Mt Carmel, Ghost Shirt, The Saturday Giant, Hebdo, Barely Eagle, Wussy (acoustic performance), WC Lindsay, The Kyle Sowashes, Psychic Wheels, She Bears, Van Dale, Captain Kidd, Joey Hendrickson & The Sleepless Nights, Hafrican, Comrade Question, Damn The Witch Siren, Carlin Guthrie, Herzog, Day Creeper, Vis a Vis, Cliffs, Beggars, Mekka Don, Sega Genocide, Bridesmaid, Echolocation, Indigo Wild, Fields & Planes, Kelly Zullo & the Phunkgrass, Derek Dupont & The Wild, Bigshot, Christopher Robin, The Brave Weather, Brat Curse, Feature Films, Speak Williams Trio, Hexers, Deadwood Floats, Surfer, Dead is Dead, Isken Cosip, Jon Morgan, Eric Ahlteen, Underground Magic, and Metrists.

The fest, which had been held downtown at the intersection of Pearl and Gay streets since 2008, will be making its debut in Franklinton, a burgeoning arts district that's home to artist collective 400 West Rich, the Columbus Idea Foundry and a spate of new food and drink purveyors, including Strongwater Food and Spirits.
