Concert preview: Curtin makes lovely noise on One for the Doghearted

Curtin, a Chicago-based, roots-leaning collaboration between singer/guitarist Jason Reuger (of Country Mice) and drummer Austin Nelson, appears here in support of its most recent album, One for the Doghearted.

Indeed, One for the Dog-Eared would have been an equally appropriate title, considering the band’s lovely, heavy-hearted songs have a tendency to sound charmingly lived-in. Wilco keyboardist Mikael Jorgensen joins the pair on record for a handful of tracks, including “Better Ride,” which fittingly comes on like a lost outtake from Jeff Tweedy and Co.
