Concert preview: Family chemistry evident on Good English's Radio Wires

Andy Downing, Columbus Alive

The Dayton trio, whose members bill themselves as "riff-rock pimptresses" on the band's official Facebook site, takes a far-less freewheeling approach than expected on Radio Wires, released in 2013. Rather the three-piece eases into an assortment of moody rockers ("Drive," which resists highway speeds), shimmering ballads (the gorgeous "Heartbreaker") and muddy, grunge-era throwbacks ("Through the Dark"). The more languid pace highlights the natural chemistry between the players, who share not only a band, but a bloodline (the trio is made up of sisters Elizabeth, Celia and Leslie Rasmussen).

Damn the Witch Siren, Shvs and the Up All Nights open the show.
