Concert preview: Bob Seger music remains as blue-collar as his Detroit home

If advertisers had their way, Bob Seger would soundtrack commercials for every American car manufacturer. The Detroit native is the antithesis of rock star flash. He typically performs in a T-shirt and jeans, and he applies the same workmanlike approach to everything from his stage show (audiences assuredly get their money’s worth) to his blue-collar rock sound, which remains every bit as sturdy and rugged as a classic Chevy.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Seger, 69, expressed little interest in touring into his 70s, and said he had no plans for a grand farewell tour. With that in mind, be sure to catch the singer/songwriter before he quietly steps away from the spotlight.
