Concert preview: Americana-leaning Langhorne Slim perfectly out-of-step with modern times
Langhorne Slim, born Sean Scolnick (he nicked the stage name from his Pennsylvania hometown), embraces a musical style that sounds every bit as out-of-step with modern times as his turn-of-the-century moniker. The Way We Move, from 2012, finds Slim and his bandmates bashing through rowdy, Americana-tinged songs colored with slapdash drums, dancing violin and plucked banjo.
Though the crew has been quiet of late, there are rumors of new recordings, and it wouldn't shock if Slim dropped a new song here.
The Dewars open the show.
