Rock on the Range might be over, but hard rock fans can continue punishing their eardrums when Clutch and Mastodon team up to headline an outdoor show at LC Pavilion on Sunday, May 24.

Over the course of six albums, Atlanta’s Mastodon has established itself as one of the most inventive bands in metal, pairing big, conceptual ideas (albums have encapsulated everything from “Moby Dick” to surrealist adventures borne of time travel, religion and sci-fi) with gut-punching riffs. Clutch, in contrast, tends to remain earthbound, slugging its way through boulder-hurling numbers one could imagine “Game of Thrones’” so-called “stone men” headbanging along with. Graveyard opens the show.
