Concert preview: Michigan-bred singer Borns constructs futuristic pop designed to trigger the brain's pleasure center

Michigan-bred singer Garrett Borns, best known by the Cher-like moniker Borns, has already been endorsed by no less a cultural force than Taylor Swift, who dubbed his song "Electric Love" "an instant classic" in an Instagram post. The singer's debut, "Dopamine," doesn't stray from the promise of its title, with Borns layering his falsetto atop an assortment of breezy, vaguely futuristic pop tunes designed to trigger the brain's pleasure center.
