Concert preview: EZTV

Andy Downing, Columbus Alive

EZTV frontman Ezra Tenenbaum has the ideal name considering the trio's gently psychedelic, throwback sound (think a softer-edged Byrds) would slot perfectly onto the soundtrack of any film by director Wes Anderson ("The Royal Tenenbaums," natch). Like Anderson, the band fills its songs with intricate details (jangly guitar tones, summery vocal melodies, etc.) that give the finished product a layered richness.

As a bonus, don't be surprised if EZTV is joined onstage at some point by Martin Courtney and Matt Kallman of headliners Real Estate, since both make a guest appearance on the crew's latest,High In Place, joining an ensemble cast that also includes Jenny Lewis and Chris Cohen, among others.(Safe Bet)
