Like Robert Ellis and Sturgill Simpson, New Albany native Aaron Lee Tasjan puts a fresh, modern twist on country music, taking inspiration from craggy crooners of the past while infusing his expertly crafted Americana tunes with a clever, playful sense of humor. Tasjan has spent time in the Tom Petty-loving Madison Square Gardeners and as a hired-gun guitarist in bands like New York Dolls and Alberta Cross, but his New West Records debut,Silver Tears, is the musician's crowning achievement.
