Staff Pick: Migos at Express Live

Altanta rap trio Migos is in the middle of a breakout moment. The dab-happy group's new record, Culture (Quality Control), hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and just a couple weeks ago, Migos further entered the mainstream by performing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

In January, Migos' single “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, knocked Rae Sremmurd's “Black Beatles” off the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart. While the popularity of “Black Beatles” was partially due to the fact that the song became the unofficial soundtrack to the viral #mannequinchallenge meme, “Bad and Boujee” has similarly been undoubtedly helped by viral Twitter jokes and videos, as well as a shout-out on the Golden Globe Awards from Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino and the star of FX series “Atlanta.” (Migos has appeared on the show.)

I'd like to thank the Migos — not for being on the show, but for making ‘Bad and Boujee.' That's the best song ever,” Glover said. Later, backstage, Glover called Migos “the Beatles of this generation.”
