Concert preview: Diarrhea Planet

Joel Oliphint

It'll be tough for Diarrhea Planet to top the last time I saw the band perform, which was at Nelsonville Music Festival in 2016. The four-guitar onslaught from the nasty-named Nashville six-piece was in full effect, and one audience member was so … moved? … that he stripped down to his birthday suit and joined the band onstage. Twice. In his defense, a DP performance is an over-the-top rawk 'n roll experience, with all the finger-tapping and guitar face you'd expect from a band with four guitars. But it would all be gimmickry without the hooks, and this band has 'em for days. (Don't miss it)
