Concert preview: Katy Perry at Schottenstein Center

Joel Oliphint

While Katy Perry's attempt at showing a more serious side of herself on new album Witness is admirable, much of the buzz about the record has more to do with her personal transformation (and a bizarre promotional, 96-hour live YouTube stream) than the actual songs, which are pretty meh. Still, Witness hit No. 1 on the charts, and Perry has enough big hits (I'm partial to “Dark Horse”) and a penchant for over-the-top stage productions that, even if the Witness material isn't necessarily a highlight, there may be enough pop hooks and eye candy to make this rescheduled show worthwhile. (Think twice)
