Superchunk came together in the dark ages of the late '80s, defining a sound that had no name, and putting a big star on Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in the Generation X Atlas of Cool Cities. The quartet DIY-ed nothing into something, and eventually became one of indie rock's most important bands, all while forming and running Merge Records, a label that is the gold standard of both quality and integrity. And all of this is coming from someone who is not a fan. Appropriately, this show is sold out. Scrawl opens. (Safe bet)
