Three African-American brothers in Detroit formed proto-punk trio Death in the early '70s, playing punk-rock before the Sex Pistols and the Ramones and all the other bands that would later become known as trailblazers. It took 35 years, though, for fans to discover the seven-inch Death recorded in 1976, but once they did, the trio began to get its due, helped in part by the acclaimed 2012 documentary film “A Band Called Death,” which will screen before this show on the band's “Final Curtain” tour.
