Daily Distraction: Radiohead offers up a 'Rainbow' amid dark days

Thom Yorke performs with Radiohead in July 2018 at the Schottenstein Center.

For the last couple of months, Radiohead has been releasing a steady stream of quarantine concerts, archived performances designed to help fans better navigate these restrictive COVID-19 days.

The latest of these, In Rainbows — From the Basement, has long been a favorite of Radiohead diehards, having previously aired in limited fashion on VH1. Recorded in 2008 at the Hospital Club in London, the footage lives up to the simplicity of its title, with the band members working through tracks off of In Rainbows, an album that continues to get better with age, while holed up together in a windowless room. Also included are assorted B-sides and past album cuts like a killer version of Kid A track "Optimistic," which, truth be told, we could all use a bit more of these days.
