June 2-8 concerts + new shows on sale
A rundown of select concerts taking place this week, plus recently announced shows: Julien Baker, CHVRCHES, Modest Mouse, Waxahatchee, Bully and more

Editor's note: For years, Alive has provided readers with a curated weekly concert calendar, but in March of 2020 we changed course. Music venues were shuttered due to COVID-19, so we began listing local livestreams. Over time, some venues started hosting tabled, socially distant concerts, so we added those into the mix, as well.
As Ohio's health orders expire, some venues are beginning to host general admission concerts. The line between socially distant and regular concerts is beginning to blur. Mask policies are changing. Vaccines are readily available. Livestreams are few and far between.
In light of all that, starting this week we're resuming our previous format of listings, which name the band, venue and date. Each venue will have differing COVID-related policies, of course, and those could change from week to week. So depending on your comfort level with various capacity restrictions, tabled vs. standing, masks optional vs. masks required, you'll have to decide which concerts and venues are safe for you. (We'll still include the occasional livestream when applicable.)
Quite a few late-summer and fall concerts have also been announced in recent days, with more on the way, so we'll resume listing recently announced shows in this recurring post, too. Look for it every Wednesday.
"But what if I forget to check the site on Wednesday?" That's a great question, so glad you asked! Alive has a daily newsletter, so you'll never need to worry about missing the weekly concert post. Sign up here. And be safe as you venture out to Columbus concerts again. Also tip your bartenders, don't be loud during quiet songs and definitely don't be the "Free Bird!" guy. Oh, and bands/venues, please don't wait till 10 p.m. to put the opener on. OK that's it. For now.
