The day started with some good music news: Smashing Pumpkins are touring, including a stop in Columbus at Kemba Live on May 28, and Greg Dulli's Afghan Whigs released its first new song in five years, "I'll Make You See God."

But then, later this afternoon, news broke that legendary singer Mark Lanegan has died.

Lanegan, who's probably best known as frontman for Screaming Trees, collaborated with Dulli in both the Gutter Twins and the Twilight Singers. RIP.
