Deals & steals around town

The sad news first: Xcessories -- one of Central Ohio's sassiest gift shops -- is closing its doors at month's end. The good news second: The Powell store (232 W. Olentangy St.) has slashed prices to clear its inventory. The spunky greeting cards are buy two, get one free (I bought some goodies!), and there's a bunch of other great finds, too, from Zents body products to displays.

For other weekend deals, read on.

The Limited at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing has its sale racks stocked. The marked-down accessories are especially great (including some fabulous gold cuff bracelets with colorful beading details for just $12.99!)

The Banana Republic at Tuttle also has a jam-packed sale section, and a lot of it is spring wear. Also, all dresses storewide -- including several that just arrived -- are $98 or less.

Now through Sunday, Saks Fifth Avenue at Polaris Fashion Place is offering a few different specials. First, if you spend at least $300 on two pairs of jeans, you'll get 25-percent off your total purchase. Second, if you spend $250 in the contemporary department, you'll receive a Milly necklace. Finally, if you spend $450 in the contemporary department, you'll receive the necklace and a $50 Saks gift card.

With a printable coupon, Ann Taylor is offering these deals on full-priced merchandise through Saturday: 20-percent off a $100 purchase, 30-percent off a $300 purchase and 40-percent off an $800 purchase.

And in case you're with little ones, there's a printable coupon for Build-A-Bear Workshop offering $5 off an animal costing $10 or more.
