Jet-Setting Glamour
When the class decided on a "Cityscapes" theme for this year's fashion show, Munn dreamed up a 1920s-inspired collection with each piece featuring a different color, like the Row's brightly painted homes. "The layering and the feminine quality of all clothing at that time is what I incorporated into my look," said Munn, who also will design emcee Andrea Cambern's clothing for the event.
Other students were inspired by everything from their families' home countries to far-off locales they've only dreamed of visiting. The result will be a May 8 runway show that's like a virtual around-the-world tour. "It's been interesting to see how they handle getting the thought of that place into their garment," said professor Suzanne Cotton. "I've been excited."
