Lucky $13: Kitchen Little

Chicken & waffles is a locally hard-to-find oddball combo, but when done right, it can make you race down the street screaming out in shock-faced epiphany. For this, my friends, you now only need head down to the North Market Poultry & Game's prepared-food counter, cutely named Kitchen Little.

Their dazzling version of the sweet-and-savory treat is assembled with the incomparable waffles from next-stall neighbor Taste of Belgium (they're crispy, ruffly and taste kind of doughnut-y). On top of that beautiful super-carbo-base comes real-deal Ohio maple syrup, a free-range, "alive two days ago" herb-dusted, pan-fried boneless chicken breast and then a healthy dosing of Frank's hot sauce.

The crazy collision of disparate flavors is devilishly good and a partnership made in flavor heaven.
