Decor: Glam Dublin condo

Brynn Burton considered painting her entire living room in the dark, chalkboard-gray color she layered on the far wall. She decided against such a bold move - but, she said, she really does like that color.

"I would paint a whole room black, if I could," said Burton, who works in public relations. "I'v e seen it in magazines."

In fact, most of what's not white in her Dublin-area condo is black or shades of gray, which makes punches of color pop and lends elegance to the chandelier-shapes theme that appears on all three floors.

Burton, 27, draws inspiration from Elle Decor and Modern Home magazines in creating what she calls a "Hollywood regency" look.

"When I first started living on my own, I bought stuff to fill the space, and half that stuff I wasn't crazy about and don't have anymore," she said. "It's taken me a little longer, but all the stuff in here, I absolutely love."

Burton's excitement about her own home projects inspired her to blog about tips for recreating designer looks on the cheap. She just launchedChic et Cheap; check it out at
