Beauty: Pampered pups
Personal style has gone to the dogs. Just ask our lovely makeover model, Flora Z. Benton, a four-year-old poodle who rocks the Prince Valiant haircut and haughtily prances around after beauty appointments at Wendy's Pampered Pets in Grandview.
We sniffed around for the latest dog-grooming and style trends, which are sure to make your K-9 the coolest at the kennel.

Graffiti Dogs creates coifs in nearly any style the owner requests. Its signature cut is the Mohawk (we'd like to see the Donald Trump or the hi-top fade). And a chic dye job includes coloring just the bottom side of the tail, particularly hip for long-haired dogs.
One popular product for the nails is Soft Paws. These are like socks for individual claws, saving hardwood floors and eliminating frequent puppy pedicures. They come in a rainbow of options, including clear.

This pet spa offers amenities like mud masks, therapeutic baths and blueberry and mango exfoliating facials. They will also individualize comprehensive Zen wellness plans for pets to help dogs balance their chi.
The spa's list of services will soon include more aromatherapy offerings and Reiki healing massages for the stressed-out (or seriously spoiled) pup.

Fashionably anthropomorphize your pet with a wardrobe of the latest looks. This boutique has everything from dog dresses to designer-wear and dog goggles to bowties. In the spring it will also start selling its own customized designs.
Be sure to say hi to the store's rescued long-haired Chihuahua, named Dog, who sometimes wears a sweater vest. The look, for now, is called "The OSU" instead of "The Jim Tressel."
