Restaurant Review: C-Town Market & Deli

Columbus Alive

Downtown is a part of Columbus that can always use some good news in the food department - especially in the "market" category. Considering that sector seems to be dominated by dodgy shops specializing in cigs, forties, lotto tickets and short hours, the C-Town Market & Deli appears to offer lots of promise.

It's a bright and roomy new store with a walk-in cooler full of beers, but C-Town also sells respectable wine, healthy and boutiquey snacks, and it has a deli that prepares sandwiches such as a Lobster and Havarti Grilled Cheese and Sausage with Goat Cheese-Stuffed Peppadew Peppers.

Very much a work-in-progress, its potential - especially in the form of a serious-looking guy in executive chef's whites - should be encouraging to all full-time and part-time Downtowners.
