Step up for Stefanie

Looking for something to do in October to support breast cancer awareness month? Round up friends or family members and take part in Step up for Stefanie at 10 a.m. Oct. 23 at Ohio Stadium. The inaugural event, in honor of the late Stefanie Spielman, benefits the fund established in her name for breast cancer research. (Spielman, the wife of former OSU and NFL football player Chris Spielman, lost her 11-year battle with breast cancer in Nov. 2009.) The race is family-friendly: You can choose between a 5k or a two-mile route, and there will be activities afterward. Registration is $15 to $30 (depending on which route you chose), and children under 12 are free. Sign up online at StepUpForStefanie.org.
