Considering the stratospheric number of events at the Arnold, it's impossible to see everything. Here are three events worth getting pumped up for.

U.S.Olympic Weightlifting Team Trials

4 p.m. Sunday at Rooms C110-115, Greater Columbus Convention Center

There can be no dispute that the Arnold is the epicenter of the weightlifting world this weekend as 220 top amateurs compete for Olympic berths and national championships.

On the women's side, Holley Mangold of Columbus Weightlifting Club will be one of 15 lifters competing for two spots on the U.S. Olympic team. That's not two lifters per weight class, but two athletes total across all weight classes; winners will be selected based on how many kilos they hoist compared with their own body weight.

Columbus Weightlifting Club mainstay Drew Dillon will be among the competitors in the USA Weightlifting National Championships, which will run all weekend at the convention center, culminating in Sunday's women's Olympic trial.

Arnold Schwarzenegger statue unveiling

11:30 a.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial front lawn

In honor of festival co-founder Arnold Schwarzenegger's long history of competition and contribution in Columbus, Vets Memorial will unveil a statue of "The Governator" on the front lawn Friday morning. Schwarzenegger has been promoting Columbus bodybuilding and fitness events with Jim Lorimer since he retired from competition in 1975.

"He comes in every year," Lorimer said. "He's never missed an event since 1975."

Schwarzenegger will be present for the unveiling.

2012 Reebok CrossFitOpen Workout No. 2

9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Grand Ballroom, Greater Columbus Convention Center

In order to compete in the Reebok CrossFit Games, you have to qualify at regionals. In order to make it to regionals, you have to complete a five-week series of workouts, which are administered and verified by a number of officially sanctioned CrossFit representatives around town. The CrossFit area at the Arnold will be administering the second leg of the workout Saturday, so aspiring fitness fiends can show up and compete directly against elite competition like 2010 CrossFit Games champion Graham Holmberg, a.k.a. that year's "fittest man in the world."
