Summer Celebration Art
The work of four female artists will be showcased through July 7 at The Gallery Art Center in Upper Arlington. Titled "Summer Celebration," the show's art mediums include jewelry, pastels and watercolors. Here's a primer on each of the creative ladies.
Catherina Bishopp: Bishopp's background includes designing jewelry for companies like Henri Bendel. Her jewelry incorporates stones and metals to create wearable pieces like bracelets and earrings.
Virginia Carvour: The artist studied at Columbus College of Art and Design and uses pastels to create paintings, which are featured in collections nationwide.
Ruth Ann Mitchell: Mitchell draws upon her travel experiences and childhood memories to produce landscape portraits and abstracts.
Karen Sterrett: Another CCAD grad, Sterrett works as a graphic designer and uses watercolors in her art, oftentimes painting flowers and still-life objects.
