A local fashion designer was recently announced as the winner of a first-time, worldwide fabric design contest. Andie Hanna of Columbus was one of eight finalists in Fabric8, a first-time contest that received more than 700 entries. Sponsored by Spoonflower (an online site where designers can sell the fabrics they create), Fabric8 contestants submitted an original design to be voted upon by the public. Hanna was deemed the winner, and will create her own textile collection as the prize. Learn more about Hanna and see her winning designs here.–Heather Weekley, @heather_weekley
