Short North Spa: Reverse Vanity
A new spa is coming to the Short North: It's called Reverse Vanity, and is the brainchild of 27-year-old Nicole DiTommasso. There's a launch party on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 6-9 p.m. to celebrate, where you can learn about the services before the grand opening on Sept. 18. We had the chance to chat with DiTommasso about the spa's offerings and its presence in the Short North. –Heather Weekley, @heather_weekley
Tell me a little bit about the concept of the spa.
It was very important to me to create a concept that revolved around preventative and corrective skin care. I have been very fortunate in my experience in the beauty industry to work both in retail and hands-on in the spa. It's a blend of both worlds. We want to have the best available products to complement the best skincare treatments.
What kind of services will it offer?
We will have chemical peels. We will have diamond microdermabrasion. We will be doing bio microcurrant treatment, which stimulates muscles in the face. It allows the muscles that we don't usually use to contract to create elasticity. It's like yoga for your face. We will be doing sonic youth treatments, which penetrate moisture and penetrates deeper into the layers if the skin. What we're really excited about is partnering up with Kerstin Florian skincare. We're the only spa in Ohio to offer these products.
What will Reverse Vanity bring to the Short North area?
I think it will bring a new, fresh atmosphere to the Short North that hasn't been developed yet. It will be extremely modern décor, luxurious, glamorous and inviting. We want to cater to our clients. We'd like to transform the service you're getting to tailor your needs. We hope it will chic and trendy – SoHo meets a South Beach feel.
